Organic & Biodynamic Ingredients to Prepare the Best Mulled Wine

Preparation

STEP 1

Combine the wine, cider, whiskey, maple syrup, and vanilla extract in a large pot.

STEP 2

Place the pot on the stove over low to medium heat (you don’t want to cook off the alcohol, so keep the cooking temperature low) and add the sliced apples and oranges.

STEP 3

Bring the mixture to a light simmer and let simmer gently for 20 minutes.

STEP 4

Remove the pot from the heat. Ladle the wine into mugs and garnish with extra cinnamon sticks, sliced apples, and oranges as desired.

Biodynamic Wine

The foundation of the best mulled wine is the Frey Biodynamic® Tempranillo. All of our Biodynamic wines are also certified Organic, because we want to have the highest standards possible. We are the first Biodynamic winery in the USA, and we love educating folks about the Biodynamic methods, Biodynamic viticulture, and Biodynamic winemaking. We believe that the Biodynamic wines we produce are unique in that they are made with only the native yeasts on the grapes (as per the Biodynamic standard for winemaking). They are also made without the addition of sulfites (as per the Organic standard for winemaking). We grow the Tempranillo grapes in Redwood Valley, and we hope that you can taste the Mendocino terroir each time that you sip! Cheers!
