Casey Frey
Famed comedian and dancer Casey Frey’s newest video is a parody video about Frey Vineyards, the winery where he grew up! Today Casey has millions of followers on his social media accounts, and we’re excited that he’s sharing his roots with the world!
He grew up on the Frey ranch with his brothers, sister, and many cousins. His dad Adam Frey worked with Casey’s aunts and uncles at Frey Winery – just a hop, skip, and a jump from Casey’s childhood home. The winery and organic vineyards served as the backdrop for Casey’s childhood. His grandma Beba lived a short walk away. Whether he was swimming in the pond, running around the forests and meadows, or shooting hoops, Casey’s early life at Frey Vineyards was surrounded by family.
From a young age Casey was interested in the performing arts. His mother Kim was an avid dancer and Casey followed her footsteps. His folks got him enrolled in SPACE (Near and Arnold’s School of Performing Arts and Cultural Education) in nearby Ukiah, performing in plays, dances, and even dancing in plays! In his teens, his mom’s Boek side of the family and his dad’s Frey side of the family hosted a variety show called the “Freoeks” (combining both names), featuring musicians, dances, and amusing skits to fundraise for SPACE. From the time he was able to get on stage, Casey was a performer. His family has always loved and supported his creative talent.
As a teen, Casey started performing with the Ukiah Players Theater under the direction of the amazing Jenny Peterman. This community theater house is a wonderful resource in a small town, bringing thespians of all ages together to create wonderful plays. According to Casey himself, the musicals that he participated in there were a large part of what propelled him into acting.
Casey later moved to Los Angeles to start his career as an artist in earnest, finding many small successes. He got his big break when a platform called Vine helped him launch several viral videos that combined his awesome dancing with comedy. Millions of views later, Casey made his art a full-time ambition. Today he has a successful career as a comedian both online and in front of live audiences across the country. His irreverent signature style has earned him an immense following.
